The short version
- You can play the full game without an account. If you never sign up, we collect nothing about you.
- If you create an account to appear on the leaderboard, we store your email, username, a scrambled (hashed) version of your password, and your winning scores.
- We don't sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use analytics or ad tracking.
- You can delete your account and all its data at any time (see below).
What we collect
| Data | Why | How long we keep it |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | To create your account and let you log in | Until you delete your account |
| Username | Shown next to your scores on the public leaderboard | Until you delete your account |
| Password | To secure your account. We store only a salted hash, never your actual password. | Until you delete your account |
| Account ID and sign-up date | Created by our server to run your account | Until you delete your account |
| Game scores (wins only) | To rank you on the leaderboard | Daily scores: 8 days. Your all-time best: until you delete your account. |
| Login session token | Keeps you logged in on your phone | Until you log out or delete your account |
Player names you type for a local game (for example "Player 1" or "Player 2") stay on your device and are never sent to us.
What we don't collect
No location, contacts, photos, phone number, real name, device ID or advertising ID. The app's only permission is internet access.
What others can see
The leaderboard publicly shows your username and score. Your email address is never shown to other players.
Where your data lives and how it's protected
Account and score data is stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the United States. All data travels over encrypted HTTPS connections and is encrypted at rest. The game loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your device's IP address when the fonts load; no account data is sent to Google.
Sharing
We don't sell, rent or share your personal data with third parties. We would only disclose it if required by law.
Delete your account and data
In the app: log in, open your account panel, and tap Delete account. Your account, email, username, password hash and all your scores are deleted immediately.
Without the app: email playroastnroll@gmail.com from the email address on your account, with the subject "Roast N Roll account deletion" and your username. We'll delete your account and all associated data within 30 days and confirm by email.
What's deleted: your email, username, password hash, account ID and every score tied to your account. Nothing is kept afterward, except error logs that never contain your personal details.
Your choices
You can play without an account at any time. To get a copy of your account data or correct it, email playroastnroll@gmail.com from the address on your account and we'll respond within 30 days.
Children
The app is rated for everyone, but accounts are not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
